This hotel is not the most modern in terms of its exterior room blockings and not the most elaborate as far as its amenities such as its pools, gyms and children's activity areas, but the level of service from the moment you arrive to the time you leave is excellent. The beach is also fantastic and especially suitable for those wanting a more peaceful, welcoming beach experience different than that you will find on the beach hotels on the major North coast strip. The hotel reception/atrium is beautiful with lots of African decor. There is a small grocery store next door with everything you could need that you may want to enhance your stay, such as multi-pack bottled water, snacks, etc. On the strip outside the hotel, are many small bars, restaurants, a money exchange, and all other services one may want. It is a short walk or taxi ride away from local attractions like the crocodile pond and Calypso Restaurant. Special mention must be made to one of the hotel managers, Mr Abdoulie Cham - excellent and professional service! Finally, the food and nightly entertainment were excellent!

Lovely hotel, staff, food and beach excellent. Only gripe is that the dogs on the beach have got to go. Visitors bringing food from the breakfast area to give to them doesn't help. The fights between the dogs this creates is not good. Nothing against dogs at all of course. PS: Nothing to do with the Hotel: The airport is chaos, too many people there who should not be. There are Police there, but they ignore it all. And a shame they could collect visa charge just either on entry or departure, not twice.

So nice,the hotel was Excellent,good location,nice rooms,beech on the doorstep,pool,daytime activities and evening entertainment,and spa.The staff were friendly and polite,super helpful,we went all inclusive for our 2 week stay and was well worth it,the food served was very good,unlimited food and drinks The entertainment by the animation team was good,a big thanks to magic glasses he was brill,such a nice guy and to the rest of the team The whole time we were there it was really quiet and relaxed,not mad busy,always plenty space and available sun loungers around the pool,the beach was so nice and relaxing,really enjoyed our time in gambia The staff made us feel welcome,so polite friendly and always on hand. We also tried the buddha restaurant which is in the resort,that had some really good food and again the service was 5* Relax in the hotel all day or book excursions,lots of things to do and see If you want a nice relaxing holiday in a nice hotel then definitely ocean beach, If you want something more busy like benidorm then u best book in the senegambia strip

What I experienced at the Ocean Bay Hotel in The Gambia wasn't a vacation: it was a pure happiness transfusion! I swear, my eyes are still heart-shaped just thinking back to those days. A Star-Treatment Welcome and Zero Stress From the exact moment I stepped in, I knew this place was different. The check-in? It was something out of a movie! Super quick, zero bureaucracy, just smiles so genuine they warm your soul. They made me feel not like a guest, but like the King of The Gambia! The welcome was so perfect that I was relaxed before I even saw the room. The Room? My Personal Sanctuary! And speaking of the room... WOW! It wasn't a simple room; it was a sanctuary of peace and beauty. Everything was IMMACULATE, with a style that makes you say, "Okay, I could live here forever!" The bed was incredibly comfortable, the view was jaw-dropping... Basically, it was a true luxury nest that pampers you properly. The Evening: Culinary Ecstasy at Buddha Restaurant Ah, the Buddha! Anyone who says the dinner was "good" didn't understand anything. That dinner was a spiritual event! Every single bite was a crazy burst of flavors. The atmosphere envelops you, the service anticipates your desires, and the dishes look like works of art. I didn't eat, I celebrated life. It's a SCREAMINGLY good experience that's worth the trip alone! The Beach; The Definition of Paradise! And then there she is. The beach... Oh my God, the beach! Forget crowded shores. Here we're talking about sand as soft as talcum powder, swaying palms providing shade, and the Ocean singing a relaxing melody. Calling it beautiful doesn't do it justice; it’s a masterpiece of nature. I spent hours staring at the horizon and wondering if I had landed inside a postcard. The Ocean Bay Is PERFECT. Period. Seriously, there wasn't a single flaw. Everything was perfect, from the first smile at check-in to the last cup of coffee. If you are looking for the vacation of a lifetime, the one you'll remember forever, stop thinking and book it. My Rating? A thousand out of five! GO THERE! It's happiness in the form of a hotel!

What you would expect for this price. The room was nice, except for the furniture. They were made for children sized guests. This was the same for all the hotels I visited in West Africa. I asked some of my Guides about it. Africans, the same size as Europeans, but the furniture was like very low. Smaller than the Asian hotels. But except for this the room was OK. The bed was very comfy and I slept very good. Breakfast was OK with omelettes made to order and tea served at the table. I had expected fresh bread, but this was not the part that had been French so no good bread. Staff was friendly and helpful, just what you expect. The only trouble was the booking.com that I will never use again. I will stay here again if I come back to Banjul
